Florida Gulf Coast topped Penn State yesterday, 12-11, in 14 innings. As the football-like total indicates, lots of players on both sides had good days. Nittany Lions' 1B Cory Wine led the attack with four hits and three RBI. The senior doubled and scored twice. Grant Youngblood stayed hot by collecting three more hits. Youngblood crossed home three times, as well. Mike Deese homered and drove in three for PSU.
Amazingly, in light of all the scoring, FGC's Derek Shaw pitched 5.1 perfect innings and struck out seven Nittany Lions to post the victory.
For those looking to stay on top of all the PSU/FGC action on Wednesday, PSU baseball in now on Twitter. (I'm beginning to think I'm the only one that isn't.) You can follow the action and converse with your fellow Happy Valley brethren. What more can you ask for?
