Minnesota downed Ohio State, 6-4. I can't find any stats as of yet, but the Gophers site indicates Minnesota went yard twice. More to come. (I hope.)
Michigan State thumped Northwestern, 11-6. NU put one on the board in the first. The Spartans answered with three in their half of the opening frame. MSU put another three on the board in the second. The Wildcats went on top with a five run fifth inning. However, the Spartans concluded the scoring by putting six up in the bottom of the fifth to take the win.
MSU's Sean Walker hit a grand slam and drove in six runs. Evan Friedland drove in three. Dennis Jones was a perfect 5 for 5. Northwestern's Jake Goebbert and Caleb Fields each had a pair of hits and RBI.
Purdue put a hurt on Iowa, 13-4. Ryne White and Jeff Mojzik each had four hit games. White, who took over the Big Ten batting race last weekend, also had four RBI. Boilers' freshman Matt Bischoff (3-1) worked seven innings giving up seven hits, a walk and four runs to post the win. Bischoff also fanned six Hawkeyes. Travis Sweet led Iowa's offense with three RBI.
Illinois sneaked past Indiana, 6-5. The Illini won in spite of committing six errors. Tanner Roark started and worked 7.2 innings to post his sixth win. Roark allowed nine hits, three walks and five runs only two of which were earned. Jake Toohey came in and got his fifth save. Daniel Webb was the hitting star with three hits and two RBI. CF Andrew Means paced IU with three hits and two RBI.
